After many public battles with the studio, Ann left Warner’s in 1936 with her damaged reputation, and began to freelance for various studios. And you'll never see this message again. Although she did make three feature films and one short film in England during this time, Ann devoted most of her energy to the war-effort as a member of the Women’s Land Army, an ambulance driver, a newspaper columnist, and a BBC broadcaster.
