Not sure if I should just stick with standard for now and try to dial it in.
The tone cloud alone is a godsend! Also I have a real tube Mesa Boogie and 20 pedals.
I’m wondering if the other bias amp sets are worth it too - sadly no sale.
Often it wont work as a vst and I have to open the stand alone version, change the setting there, and then go back to vst. Like 3 of them were okay).
Only users with topic management privileges can see it. Do you guys that upgraded from 1 to 2 feel it was worth it and are you satisfied with FX2 ? I get Sales pitches for upgrades whenever I open it. As for now, I like your advice to try to get the most out of what I have. These days my favourite guitar signal chain is using BIAS Amp with the Celestion cabs and then hooking up to regular AUv3 FX in AUM (FAC Chorus or Vyrsin Tap Delay for example). I’m currently using my pod and I record metal, and I would really like a plugin that I know sounds good.

Overall not happy with my purchase.
It's fantastic, realistic, and maybe just a bit too CPU-intensive for me to call it perfect.

Liking it so far. @musical-alchemy It depends on how you're using it, but generally there are enough new features to warrant the upgrade: looping, tuner, IR cabs, scenes etc.
I like the variety there but it all sounds like there’s some removal between me and the sound like the sims are very ‘effects’y. It sounds good and flexible, so I use Bias in my night practice sessions.

Currently eyeing the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. The amp matching they show in videos really doesn't work as well as they say (without a lot of tinkering) and some of the amps just sound terrible.

Reading the replies here makes me wonder how many are describing FX and how many are describing FX 2. Use IRs if at all possible, even just the widely available free ones. @k47boyd Might be worth it for you to get Bias Amp2, that way you can make your own amps and import into FX2. I use Bias FX and like it very much I can get a fairly nice tone. Currently looking into getting Bias FX 2 because I need a new plugin.
Welcome to r/guitar, a community devoted to the exchange of guitar related information and entertainment. Bias FX1 vs Bias FX2 Worth the upgrade ? Also, this and that. The controls just seem really severe in the effect they end up having.
The good news it sounds great.
Generally the stuff in BIAS FX sounds OK, but it can be really brittle sounding, it's hard to dial in any warmth.
Also, the Final Touch app and X Drummer as well. Route MIDI between apps — drive a
This is on sale again, 50% off. I swear a good sounding impulse response can make Even BIAS sound better. I’ve heard from a few people on here that they didn’t like Fender 1 but love Fender 2, Fender 2 is its own algorithm and they sound amazing.
I bought a Player Strat and a UR22C as my audio interface and got the Bias Fx2 as amp simulator. Bias, until recently I didn’t like either. This topic has been deleted.
Personally, I've never managed to get a sound I like out of Bias FX or Bias amp for that matter. If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons! Alright I'd go for Thermionik 5's Psycho B & C, Duality, or Damage, or TH3.
Better luck modifying canned presets that the Tonecloud stuff.

However I started stripping off all the gain from some of the clean/blues amps and found some nice tones, through a casino (I’m hoping to move to another country so had to ween down a big guitar collection and find my favourite electric). — Audiobus is @k47boyd The amp and effect quality isn't different in the Pro version. It's not so bad that I will ditch it since I am already in several hundreds, but I am not a very happy camper.
Most amp sims sound fundamentally similar. The main difference between BIAS Amp and FX is: (Amp) has more amp features but no effects. So I've worked quite a bit with bias and still haven't gotten it to sound as good as my POD. I have stomp boxes that cost more than the upgrade. Your browser does not seem to support JavaScript. Basically what would I get the most use out of? I like both Fender’s expansion packs for clean, Orange’s for rock and Mesa’s for heavy sound.
musical.alchemy last edited by . A bit cheap sounding like a multi effects pedal. I can't speak to 2 specifically, but if 1 is anything to go by, BIAS FX is for my money the biggest "what you put in is what you get out of it" example out of the major options out there.
New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast, Press J to jump to the feed. Or what do you all believe is the best plugin you have used? I still keep it around and use it because it offers some pedals and things I like that others don't, but it does make me work for it. YES.
Sims like TSE X50, Mercurriall U530/Spark, Toneforge, brainworx MegaSingle/MegaDouble, all of the Kazrog Thermionik amps, Overloud TH3, etc... provide a much more realistic and higher quality sound for the price. Celestion IRs are great. As others stated in this thread, there are alot of VSTs that sound way better. your other music apps together. I also avoid any of the reverbs in BIAS Amp or FX and use Kleverb or the Virsyn AudioReverb instead. Generally the stuff in BIAS FX sounds OK, but it can be really brittle sounding, it's hard to dial in any warmth. Sorry for all the extraneous information but thought it might be interesting to other tone nerds, or helpful in knowing whether the bias fx stuff is for me! Immerse yourself in the $70 copy, and see if there's anything that's lacking.
The Guitar Match feature alone makes BIAS FX 2 worth the price, but when added to the stunning new amps and effects it offers, it is truly a must-buy for guitarists who want to explore an entirely new world of expressive power, freedom and convenience.
