If this is the case then it’s a strong possibility that the Jedi is Obiwan Kenobi, as that would tie in nicely with the new Obiwan TV show that will be coming out soon. Although we’ve seen holograms in the series already (bounty pucks), this is the first time we see a Hologram message, like Leia’s message in A New Hope. At this point, the big Mandalorian comes up, takes one of the bars and after explaining that this Beskar was the spoils of the purge and that the Imperials are the reason why they live in hiding like sandrats, calls Mando a coward for “sharing tables” with the Empire. But now he’s giving it to Baby Yoda to play with. She ends by saying “This is the way”, which all the Mandalorians repeat.

You can tell exactly when Mando makes up his mind that saving baby Yoda from the Imperials is the right thing to do, again done so well visually by using something as simple as a small knob from a lever to remind Mando of the little guy. The scene cuts to the bar, where all the Bounty Hunters start noticing their tracking fobs go on again. That ending to the 3rd episode of #TheMandalorian ?? This is the way! Did Mando just toast a stormtrooper???

There are many familiar cargo containers seen in this episode. Doctor Pershing and a floating probe droid (maybe it’s a medical droid? Now we have baby Yoda as well, which very little is known about. The other Mandalorians aren’t too happy with him making deals with the Imperials, but eventually accept that he is doing the right thing. It seems to be a sign of weakness, or against the rules for them to take off or have their helmets taken off in front of anyone. 10. Powered by. Mando looks at baby Yoda in his arms and jumps into a nearby parked speeder, then proceeds to start shooting at everyone. Either way, those helmets must get quite smelly after a while. We get to see many familiar and also new aliens in this episode, which is cool to see and is part of what gives us that Star Wars feel. It was interesting to see Mando’s morality conflict with the Guild’s ethics. The Imperial Torture Droid (as mentioned in the summary) is in the room with baby Yoda and Doctor Pershing.

Mando is listening to a hologram message from Greef, telling him he is happy that he has the “quarry” and to deliver it directly to the Client (Werner Herzog) upon landing, as the client has been getting “antsy”.

We also see Greef Carga lying on the ground, seemingly dead, but then he moves, gets up and takes out 2 smoking Beskar bars from his chest pocket. The first live-action "Star Wars" series continues to impress through three episodes, employing a savvy blend of different genres, niftily mashing up the qualities of an old TV western with sci-fi special effects and the action-filled pacing of an animated show.

Even though I expected (and hoped) for it, there were still enough unexpected moments to keep me on the edge of my seat. Great show so far and I’m looking forward to next weeks episode. I also want to see who the Client is reporting to, although I assume it is Giancarlo Esposito’s character who we have seen in some of the trailers. The robes that Mando and his family are wearing in the flashbacks look similar to the robes worn for Life Day in the Star Wars Holiday Special.

After Mando got his amazing new armor (and I don’t think I’ve ever found armor so intriguing before), he couldn’t just move on.

When Mando returns to the compound, there is a long pole-like thing leaning against the building.

This question briefly came to mind, but I’m sure there’s a simple explanation. Baby Yoda seems a bit nervous and worried about being there.

Mando notices that baby Yoda is playing with the knob and takes it away from him, saying that it’s not a toy.

He goes to take Mando’s helmet off, Mando stops him, and they fight. This detail can also be used in later episodes to place the enemy on a more personal level.

The episode didn’t have the same amount of humor that we saw in Episodes 1 and 2, but some of the scenes that did happen were so unexpected and so beautiful (in a Western-meets-scifi kind of way) that they gave me chills.

By the end of it, I'd been on a satisfying emotional journey and I'm genuinely curious about where the series will go next. She reminds them of who they are, that the Beskar has been returned and that the Empire is no more.

In the scene where Mando gives baby Yoda to the Imperials, the red light from the scanner they are using is reflected in his vizor, but when he is on his ship about to take off, a green light is seen reflecting in his vizor. Mando switches on the carbonite chamber which blasts gas or steam into the air, hiding himself. From the start, I just knew that Mando wasn’t going to give Baby Yoda away  — at least not permanently. Greef says the line: “Because I’m your only hope”, which is a reference to the line that Leia says in her message to Obiwan Kenobi in A New Hope. 15.
